Breathe deeply. Tune into your senses.
Notice 5 things you see; 4 sounds you can hear; 3 scents you can smell; 2 sensations you feel; and perhaps 1 thing you can taste.
Or choose one sense - such as hearing - and listen to each individual sound you can identify.
Pay attention to the rise and fall of your breath. This can be practiced as you sit quietly, or in the midst of everyday activities.
Focusing on a specific sensation can still a racing mind and help you tap into the present.
